1. Introduction

Welcome to Squashed Bottles (trading as Portobello Squashed Bottles). By accessing or using our website at www.squashedbottles.com and placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or place an order.

We are a UK-based business selling handmade and upcycled glass bottle clocks and decorative items, handcrafted in London.

 

3. Eligibility

By placing an order on our website, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age

  • You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract

  • You are purchasing for personal use or as a gift and not for resale without prior written agreement from us

  • All information you provide during the ordering process is accurate and complete

 

4. Our Products

All of our products are handmade and upcycled from real glass bottles. As a result, each item is unique. There may be slight variations in shape, appearance, or finish between products shown on our website and the item you receive. These variations are a natural characteristic of handmade goods and are not considered defects.

Product images on our website are for illustrative purposes. We make every effort to display colours and details accurately, however we cannot guarantee that your screen will reflect the exact appearance of the product.

All bottles retain their original labels and contain no alcohol.

 

5. Bespoke and Custom Orders

Where you request a bespoke clock, including sending us your own bottle or requesting a specific design, the following applies:

  • Please contact us before sending any bottles to confirm suitability and arrange delivery to our studio

  • We cannot guarantee the outcome of every bottle, as some may not respond as expected to the kiln process

  • Once production of a bespoke order has begun, it cannot be cancelled or refunded

  • If a bottle sent by you is damaged during the production process, we will notify you promptly. In such cases, liability is limited to a refund of any production fee paid

  • We accept no responsibility for bottles lost or damaged in transit to our studio

 

6. Pricing and Payment

All prices displayed on our website are in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.

We reserve the right to change prices at any time without prior notice. The price charged will be the price shown at the time your order is placed.

We accept payment via the methods available at checkout, which may include major debit and credit cards, PayPal, and other secure payment options provided through our website platform. All transactions are processed securely by our payment providers. We do not store your card details.

In the unlikely event of a pricing error on our website, we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund. We will notify you as soon as possible if this occurs.

 

7. Order Confirmation and Contract

Placing an order on our website constitutes an offer to purchase. A legally binding contract between you and Squashed Bottles is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email confirming that your order has been accepted and is being processed.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, or stock unavailability. In such cases, a full refund will be issued promptly.

 

8. Delivery

We aim to dispatch all standard UK orders within 2 to 3 working days of payment being confirmed. Estimated delivery times are:

  • United Kingdom: 3 to 5 working days

  • International: Timeframes vary by destination. A standard international shipping fee of £25 applies.

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and not guaranteed. We are not responsible for delays caused by postal or courier services, customs processing, or circumstances beyond our control.

Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery. If your order does not arrive within a reasonable timeframe, please contact us at info@squashedbottles.com so we can investigate.

 

9. Returns and Refunds

Our full Refund Policy forms part of these Terms and Conditions and can be found on our website. Key points include:

  • You have 14 days from delivery to notify us of a return under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

  • Items must be unused, in original condition, and returned in original packaging

  • Bespoke and personalised orders are non-refundable once production has begun

  • Faulty or damaged items will be replaced or refunded in full including return postage

  • Return postage costs for non-faulty items are the responsibility of the customer

 

10. Cancellations

You may cancel a standard order before it has been dispatched by contacting us immediately at info@squashedbottles.com. If the order has already been shipped, you will need to follow our standard returns process.

Bespoke orders cannot be cancelled once production has begun. Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel a bespoke order before work starts.

 

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website including but not limited to images, text, logos, graphics, product descriptions, and the Squashed Bottles brand name is the intellectual property of Portobello Squashed Bottles and is protected under UK copyright law.

You may not reproduce, distribute, republish, or use any content from our website for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

 

12. User Conduct

When using our website or contacting us, you agree not to:

  • Use our website for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose

  • Submit false or misleading information during checkout or enquiries

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website or systems

  • Use our content or brand name without permission

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who breaches these conditions.

 

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Squashed Bottles shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from use of our products or website

  • Delays or failures caused by third party services including couriers, payment processors, or postal services

  • Any damage caused by misuse of our products after delivery

Our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total value of that order.
